Greetings, I am an amateur investigator on air events in Galicia (NW of Spain) I would like to know like I dog consult or to get any infomation over whitley? demolished in the coast of Galicia (NW of Spain) by Albrecht Bellstedt (2/ZG1) the 17/5/1943. They were rescued several manning that were taken in ship to Vigo. I don't have but information. Any comment will be grateful.

This most likely was Whitley BD260 ('P') of 10 OTU that was shot down by Ju88s of KG40 at mid-day 17 May 1943.
According the book "U-Boat versus Aircraft" (Norman Franks & Eric Zimmerman) the crew were rescued by a Spanish trawler and brought ashore at Vigo.
10 OTU was based at RAF St. Eval at that time.
The mentioned book unfortunately doesn't have the names of the crew members.
On the same day Whitley Z9438 of the same unit was shot down by the German submarine U-648 over the Bay of Biscay just a few hours later.

With regard to the second airplane that you tell me, I have the following information.
"Of return to the base, U648 would be attacked the day 17 by an airplane Sunderland of the 10º squadron of RAAF (F / Lt M.K McKenzie), crossing Gulf of Biscay. The airplane would be demolished by the antiaircraft artillery of U648.
U648 would arrive to its new base in Brest May 19 1943."
Sunderland RB-Z, W4004 of No.10 (RAAF) Sqn is believed to have been shot down by Hptm Morr at 08:20 hrs.
Bellstedt is believed to have shot down Whitley BD260, P of No.10 OTU at 13:16 hrs
